Email Administrator

Since the Association's formation in 1978, Bluewater Cruising Association (BCA) has supported offshore mariners and aspiring cruisers. BCA now numbers approx 870 members from all over the world, representing 400 boats.

BCA's Vision:
Mentoring, supporting and realizing cruising dreams

Mission Statement:
Fostering seamanship and friendship for those with an active interest in offshore cruising

BCA Core Values:
Community: Friends on a journey; we are not alone
Sharing: The open exchange of experiences because no one knows all the answers
Adventure: The lure of what awaits beyond the horizon
Inspiration: Fueling your dream

BCA holds club meetings in Vancouver, Calgary, Victoria and Nanaimo. Club nights feature presentations by speakers who have cruised or are currently cruising offshore. These presentations give members the opportunity to gain valuable tips on cruising offshore, share information and opinions and keep their cruising dreams alive.

Members who plan to head offshore in the next year or two may opt to join Fleet. Fleet meetings provide information on offshore preparation, such as provisioning, emergency first aid, exercise at sea, fibreglass repair, safety and navigational equipment, sail and rigging repairs and many other topics. BCA Fleets become close communities and often members rendezvous in exotic anchorages around the globe.

BCA hosts on-the-water Rendezvous and informal gatherings throughout the year at various locations in British Columbia's Gulf Islands. The Peterson Cup Cruising Rally culminates in the August Rendezvous, which traditionally is when the current Fleet is wished a heartfelt bon voyage.

Membership includes the Association's online magazine, Currents, the annual Membership Directory and access to members' pages in this web site.

Read what Pacfic Yachting Magazine has to say about BCA (August 2008) celebrating their 30th Anniversary. If you are not already a member of Bluewater Cruising Association, we invite you to join. Welcome aboard!
