Heaters... love the or hate them... or hate them... or hate them...

Looking for recommendations for someone to fix my webasto heater. Here's the history:

Bought boat three years ago.
Had one place work on the heater to get it working. They failed. Webasto claimed that it was due to an improper fuel line - the engine and the heater were sharing a fuel line and they claimed that the engine was sucking the fuel out of the heater. Fair 'nuff.

Took to a shop and they installed a new fuel line dedicated to the heater. The heater worked until 2 days after I left the shop. Now it doesn't work at all.

Winter racing season is coming on and I'd like to have a way for crew to stay warm or warm back up. Soo.....

Any recommendations in the Vancouver-ish area?

How many hours are on the heater? After X hours replacement is cheaper than fixing from what I have heard.

Also check the filter. Have you had fuel issues at all?

There are knock-offs cheap on the Internet

Some are bolt-in replacements AFAIK.

I have no experience with them though.

Hi!

Unsure how many hours are on it. Previous owner had no idea. My use: maybe 3-4 hours, total since it hasn't worked right pretty much since the beginning.

Fuel issues, none that I'm aware of. As part of the work that included putting in the new tank, I had the old tank cleaned (as in, "emptied and steam cleaned and vaccuumed").

When the first shop worked on it, it blew a motherboard on the controller, which was replaced. Other than that, most information is unknown. I am assuming (bad assumption, and thank you for pointing it out) that the filters should be OK, but I'll check them the next time I'm at the boat.
