1983 Skye 51 Bluewater Cruiser

Blue Zulu, built in 1983, is an example of the rare but sought after Skye 51 Ketch known for their prowess in the open ocean, offering speed and comfort.

The yacht was extensively renovated in 2016 including new teak decks, conversion to slab reefing as well as many other improvements. In 2023, before leaving New Zealand the boat was again mechanically renovated with an engine rebuild, new batteries, upgrades to navigation and powered systems on board and much more.

The boat has a large master cabin to the aft of the boat with private head including separate shower. The salon is large and has space to entertain and the kitchen has ample storage as well as good size fridge and separate freezer allowing for long term off grid living.

Forward there is a further bedroom allowing for a double bed and a fold down single and beyond that there is a further head and a forepeak with space for two more people.

The boat has been well looked after and will be sold with all spares and tools to allow you to set off anywhere in the world almost immediately.

Fraser 41 for trade or sale

I wish to trade my Fraser 41 for a smaller (bluewater capable) sailboat. Star Seeker was launched in 2016 and I purchased her in 2018. She is quite likely the last Fraser 41 launched as she did not see water until 2014 and was not under sail until 2018. She is insured as a 2014 vessel although her solid glass hull was laid in 1980. Most of her furnishings, systems and sail inventory have been either added new since I bought her or were purchased new by the previous owner. I have been offshore in her and she sails like a dream in that environment as do all Fraser 41s. I am interested in trading Star Seeker for a smaller bluewater capable sailboat that would be more suited to a shorthanded crew in the salish sea. I would also consider an outright sale. Innisfree is a 1998 Gozzard 36E, a proven bluewater boat with an innovative interior that is ideal for a liveaboard couple. We bought her in Sidney, BC and did a major refit in 2021, including (but definitely not limited to!) a new engine, new electronics, lithium batteries, a water maker, and enough solar to let us live at anchor most of the time (full details of the upgrades are in the advert). We sailed Innisfree from Victoria up to the central BC coast, and then trucked her across to the Great Lakes so we could sail out the St. Lawrence to Halifax, down to the Caribbean, and then across to the Mediterranean. She is a beautiful boat, and incredibly sturdy and comfortable when on the open ocean.

Innisfree is Canadian registered, and currently wintering in Licata, Sicily, the perfect jumping-off point for a cruise to Greece and Turkey, or a voyage westward to the Balearic Islands, Spain, and perhaps even the Caribbean.

We have just sold our Fast Passage 39, after deciding she was not the boat we want to sail offshore, so we're again in the market for a slightly larger and more comfortable boat.

Our preference is a centre cockpit, mainly because we haven't yet found an aft cockpit design that combines a centreline aft berth, good galley and cockpit, and strong sailing qualities.
