Fuel Flow Sensor

I'm considering adding a fuel flow sensor to my system. HOWEVER, I have a couple of concerns.

Assume I measure the amount of fuel that is going into the engine. However, not all of that fuel is used. Some of it is returned to the fuel tank... so how do I know how much fuel the engine is _actually_ using. Is there a system that measures both of those values and can determine how much fuel is actually used?

Been told I can braze the area to seal up the leak and was wondering if anyone had any idea what the rad from a 1999 Isuzu 3KC1 would be made out of (copper/brass?)? Trying to figure out what kind of rods to get for brazing.

Thanks!

I have returned to La Paz and getting ready to splash this week. I am installing the raw water impeller. on a Yanmar 4JH2E I have always tried to get the vanes to be installed in the right direction, but this is proving difficult. Is it necessary or will the vanes pop round to the right direction once it is spinning?

And a supplementary question; I am on the hard with little access to water. With the raw water impeller out of the raw water pump, can i test run the engine for 10 seconds or so? I cannot see why not, but who am I not to ask the question on this forum.
