Get a chance to work on your own outboard engine under the tutelage and supervision of a professional small engine mechanic. The first 5 people to register can bring their own outboard, the rest watch and learn.

Course Information:

When cruising, your dinghy and outboard replaces your car, and they are among the most essential pieces of equipment you’ll own. If the outboard is not running properly, you have a serious problem. Todd Koroll, GM of Vector Yacht Services will take you through general servicing and some troubleshooting. This course will provide a hands-on approach to looking after your outboard when there is no service centre nearby.

·     check the oil

·     change the plugs

·     deal with electrical problems

·     regular maintenance

·     troubleshoot

·     winterize

The first 5 people to contact Trina Holt at vieducation@bluewatercruising.org can bring their own outboard, after that, the rest will watch and learn. She’ll need your engine’s brand, model number, and serial number. 

About the Instructor: Todd Koroll is the General Manager of Vector Yacht Services in Sidney. He has many years of professionally working on outboard engines. His teaching style is engaging, clear, and even entertaining.

Cost:

BCA Members: $30

Non-members: $50

Maximum Class Size: 12 participants

Lunch: Bring a bag lunch as there are limited restaurants nearby and a fairly short lunch break.

Cancellation: A $15 processing fee will be charged in the event of participant cancellation.
