First Presentation

Imagine Sailing with Nollind van Bryce

The Glenmore Sailing Club's 60th anniversary is next year, 2019.  In mid-2017, we started exploring "how to make sailing less obscure in Calgary".

Through this we defined 60 goals for the Club, formed new community partnerships and programs and ultimately wrapped it all into the "Imagine Sailing" campaign, plan and vision.

How's it going so far? During 2018, we piloted a new program with Scouts Canada (a new partner) and 577 Scouting kids signed up to go sailing.

See the full vision and plan... we all have a role in helping people experience sailing!

Nollind started sailing in junior high school. That was a while ago :)

Nollind is currently the San Juan 21 Class Captain, GSC 6oth Anniversary Celebration Chair & Communications officer for the Glenmore Sailing Club, in Calgary.

Second Presentation

South Pacific Odyssey…Continued with Pam and Ted Simper

2017 was to be our last full season of cruising in the South Pacific and there is still so much left to see.  It was also a time of farewell, as we would be leaving many of our cruising friends behind.

After reaching New Zealand, most cruisers must make a major decision - to continue sailing the South Pacific circuit for a few more years, to continue westward and perhaps complete a circumnavigation or to end their cruising and sell their boats or ship them home.  For us, after several years of sailing in the South Pacific, it was time to move on westward.

We returned to Fiji, this time to cruise the western side, then moved on to Vanuatu and New Caledonia before sailing to Australia.

Come share our adventures!

Navadra Island, Western Fiji

Pam & Ted Simper are active members of the Calgary Chapter and Education Watch.

They will continue further on their offshore voyage, from Australia, later this fall.
