Most First Aid courses teach what to do until the ambulance arrives. This course is specifically designed for boaters whose voyaging takes them where such medical assistance will not be readily available.

Course Info:
Taught over two days, this fun and interactive Marine First Aid with CPR "C" course trains people how to react and improvise during time-priority, life threatening marine emergencies. Participants spend the majority of the course doing hands-on first aid.  By practicing with scenarios, students gain confidence, learn to react and improvise in emergency situations.

Topics to be covered include:

  • initial assessment
  • disease prevention
  • secondary survey
  • airway obstruction
  • adult, child, infant CPR (Level C)
  • use of the Automated External Defibrillator
  • recognition and first-aid treatment for head and spine injuries
  • shock
  • burns
  • bleeding
  • seizures
  • broken bones
  • anaphylactic shock
  • small wound management
  • poisoning
  • heat exhaustion
  • heat stroke
  • hypothermia

The course fee includes an Alert manual and certificate, valid for 3 years. If you wish to have a Canadian Red Cross certificate, it will be an additional $10 per person.
