Course Information:
In the excitement of getting the boat ready, planning new adventures and dreaming of exotic anchorages, we often take for granted all the things that need to be done on the home front before we slip the bowlines.  There are many decisions to be made and actions taken related to housing, furniture, personal items, finances, medical, mail, pets, family and friends, trips back home for special events or emergencies, etc:

  • Do we sell or rent the house / condo / apartment?
  • What do we do with the furniture - keep, sell, give away or??
  • How about all the personal items - pay for storage or?
  • What about professional or career materials and/or equipment - what do we do with all that stuff?
  • Books, tools, collections, family keepsakes and heirlooms - what about them?

Many of these decisions involve things that are, or have been, very important to us, so deciding what to do can be stressful and some of the options can be expensive.

Rick Ellis is a BCA lifetime member who brings years of boating experience and professional facilitation expertise to his popular, "must do" courses, including the Psychology of Voyaging and Docking Strategies: How to Build Your Docking Skills.
