Submission editing & managment options

I recently asked a moderator to remove a post so contents could be updated.  We were both pleased the request was able to be completed, but surprised with the results.  :-)

Suggest providing moderator with the means to do the following:

  • Add ability to remove postings quietly.
  • Add option where moderator can reset the original posts ability to edit own submission.
  • Increase the time during which a new posting can be edited before becoming permanent.
  • If possible, delay making the post permanent - until after a reply or subsequent post (after which a post 'should' be permanent as otherwise, changes can affect the thread.)

Sheldon

Hi Sheldon. You made some excellent suggestions. Unfortunately they are options that are not available with this website program. These are standard settings within the program that can't be changed by us. So we felt that having several forum moderators who would edit or delete our posts for us was the best solution.
