Recipricol Privilages for BWC Members?
I was curious if we had a recipricol privileges with other clubs. There is a web site called Yacht Destinations listing multiple clubs all with reciprocal agreements. Maybe this is something we could consider?

reciprocal agreements usually require some sort of reciprocity. The BCA do not really have any club spots they can offer to others so a reciprocal agreement would not work. We are personally members of Nanaimo YC and enjoy reciprocal agreements with many other clubs but it is always with clubs that have moored members.

Boats are always safest in a harbour; but that is not what they are built for.

Agree with B. Short's comment. However, some clubs are a little more flexible. They may not give "free" nights to BCA, but they might welcome BCA boats at a better (than commercial) rate. We found some clubs in California to be very flexible and welcoming (Oceanside YC didn't worry about reciprocity).

The Board of Directors has approached a couple of yacht clubs further to requests from members, but because we cannot offer any reciprocity, we have been turned down every time. I am aware of one club in CA that offered BCA leavers overnight privileges last year, but have not heard from them in 2016.
