One Day Radar Course

BCIT's Marine Campus provides a three week radar course for commercial mariners.  They have created a custom single day course for Bluewater Cruising that utilizes the same $3.25M dollar simulator facility as the commercial students.  Students will be divided into pairs and each assigned a simulated vessel - there are four such vessels in the simulator and each may communicate with the others only by virtual VHF radio.  The simulator rooms have large screen LED panel displays that portray a realistic portion of the BC coast along.  There is a radar display to use while the instructor varies the sea state, precipitation and visibility.

While this one day course will not help you earn a BCIT marine certificate, with professional instruction on how to use your radar effectively to navigate and avoid collisions it will increase the safety of you and your vessel at sea.

The cost of this course is $210 for members and $260 for non-members.
