Purpose & Benefits:
Learn from a radar expert. After completion of this seminar, you will be able to set up your radar for maximum results and interpret the display under a variety of conditions.

You will learn simple techniques to:

• identify land-masses, other vessels and transient targets

• use radar effectively for collision avoidance and navigation,

• interpret and control the display under a variety of conditions,

• recognize and compensate for rain and sea clutter, interference and side-lobe echoes

• use the new generation of integrated radar which combine chart and radar technology

Format:
Classroom style with extensive slides showing various types of radar screens and scenarios related to land observation, collision avoidance and clutter issues. With these real-life screen captures and other audio-visual effects, Kevin Monahan will soon have you managing your radar like a pro!

The Radar Book: Effective Navigation and Collision Avoidance. This excellent book is used in the United States Power Squadron Marine Radar Seminar. The book retails for $25.00

Lunch:
Bring a bag lunch or the Chartroom Lounge on the main floor of RVYC serves lunch, and there are restaurants at Cadboro Bay Village.

Cost  -  Individual and Couples Pricing:
BCA Members - $95 each (includes The Radar Book)

                     - $70 for spouse / partner if registered at same time

Non-members  - $115 each (includes The Radar Book)
                      - $90 for spouse / partner if registered at same time

Note: only one book per couple.
