Commodore's Message

The Bluewater Cruising Association was formed in 1978 by a group of sailors with a common passion to help each other prepare and cruise offshore safely. BCA's continued success is based on enabling communications with and across members, whether through our online magazine Currents, our sophisticated web tools, our HAM radio support or through a host of year-round education, social and on the water activities.

BCA constantly seeks to enhance its membership value and benefits. While some are tangible, such as affordable education programs, the best value you're likely to derive from your membership in BCA is from its very people: from the Doners sharing their wisdom, the Doers sharing their adventures and the Dreamers, sharing their hopes. Members from various Fleets know this first hand. They have embarked their own offshore voyage and are now on their way down the West Coast to join prior Fleets already scattered across the globe.

Whether you are dreaming about, actively planning or returning from an offshore cruise, we'd love to hear from you. And if you are curious about becoming a member, you can attend one of our regular Club Nights, subscribe to our daily, weekly or monthly online publication, Currents, seek our burgee in your local anchorage or just drop us a line! We're here to help.

Please join us, the offshore dream lives here!
